with special guests Festival Ballet Albuquerque and Keshet Dance

March 20, 2026 | 7:00 PM

The New Mexico Veterans Memorial is proud to present Exit12: Stories of War, a powerful evening of dance-theater that brings audiences into the lived realities of military service. Drawing on Exit12’s acclaimed Stories of War repertory, including works seen at Constitution Hall in DC, the Intrepid Museum in NYC, and national memorial spaces, Stories of War explores the physical, emotional, and moral terrain of military life, from preparation and camaraderie to loss, memory, and return.

Performed by Exit12’s professional dancer-veterans alongside military community collaborators, the work blends precise, athletic choreography with personal testimony and moments of quiet reflection. Movement ranges from unison and ritual to fractured and intimate solos, evoking both the discipline of military training and the vulnerability of life shaped by service.

Set within the sacred landscape of the New Mexico Veterans Memorial, Exit12: Stories of War transforms the site into a living space of remembrance. This performance invites audiences not only to witness stories of war, but to stand with those who carry them, honoring service while deepening understanding of its enduring impact on the body, mind, and spirit.

Performance made possible through support from Creative Forces®: NEA Military Healing Arts Network.
