Stories of War with Exit12 Dance Company
Over the past year, Citadel cadets and veteran students in the Fine Arts program have engaged with Exit12 to discuss the common ground between dance and the military, including discipline, athleticism, and teamwork. The evening performance will debut Earning the Ring, a new work inspired by the sights and sounds of daily Citadel life, alongside Exit12’s signature repertoire exploring the military experience.
Stories of War at the Citadel is funded in part by Creative Forces® NEA Military Healing Arts Network, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs that seeks to improve the health, well-being, and quality of life for military and veteran populations exposed to trauma, as well as their families and caregivers. Creative Forces is managed in partnership with Civic Arts, the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, and Mid-America Arts Alliance.
Exit12’s Season programming is supported by Dance/NYC’S Dance Advancement Fund, made possible by the Howard Gilman Foundation and the Ford Foundation, funding is also provided in part by the Donald H. Putnam, Jr. DA Fund of the Foundation for the Tri-State Community, Inc., and funds from the New York State Council for the Arts.
