Movement Workshop

Exit12 Movement Workshop: A movement workshop to improve stability, flexibility, and fluidity of movement.
Utilizing concepts in functional fitness, release technique, yoga, and creative movement students will participate in a basic movement class followed by a few creative movement tasks.
Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in and have a bit of space where you can move and lay down.

A weekly class open to all veterans focused on interweaving personal writings with the decontextualized language of Shakespeare, applying stage skills as life skills, and the communalization of trauma. Whether you are new to DE-CRUIT or an old pro, interested in maintaining learned skills or just to reconnect, all are welcome. Taught by DE-CRUIT staff on a rotating basis.
Empowerment Writing

This workshop will utilize free writing as a vehicle for conversion, connection and empowerment. We will practice kindness, compassion and non judgment while empathetically listening. From triumph to struggles, this workshop will facilitate empowering you to thrive in your daily life.
Lucid Mind/Lucid Body

A mindfulness and movement exploration with a bit of theatre training.
The class will start with a short floor warmup focusing on flexibility, increased rotation, and movement. Then you will be led on an exploration of energy centers in the body using inner visualization and characterization.
By stepping out of your comfort zone you will uncover release and mindfulness through a physical and theatrical process.
Please have: Yoga mat. Space to move a bit around mat. Privacy is preferable. Loose clothing. Notebook.
My Coach MJ

Using the “theater as medicine” tools of grounding, breathing and observation without judgment, MJ prepares the participants to receive her original weekly guided meditations. As a stress reduction & mindfulness building workshop, the meditation is followed by time for written reflection and sharing, as it reinforces the value of processing in community.
